Nostradamus (1503–1566) was a French astrologer, physician, and reputed seer who gained fame for his prophetic writings. Born Michel de Nostredame in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France, he initially trained as a physician and later turned to astrology and prophecy. Nostradamus published his first book of prophecies, Les Prophéties, in 1555. His cryptic verses, known as quatrains, continue to captivate and puzzle readers with their supposed predictions of future events.
